Dahi Puri/ Dahi Puchka


 Dahi puri is an Indian snack which is especially popular in the state of Maharastra.  The dish is a form of chaat. It is served in mini-puris. In Kolkata it is called dahi puchka. Puchka means golgappa. I always have puchka when I go to Kolkata. It is my favorite. Sometimes I prepare it for small parties at my place as a snack. Its really mouthwatering.




Ingredients
12 puris ( posted) (homemade or store bought)
1 cup white chickpea
2 Potatoes, boiled, peeled and chopped
1 Onion, finely chopped
1/4 cup chopped fresh Coriander leaves
1/3 cup fine Sev
1 cup thick curd
2 tbsp sugar
¼ cup green chutney- (posted)
¼ cup dates -imli ki chutney (posted)
1 tbsp roasted cumin powder
1 tsp red chili powder
1 tsp chaat masala
1 tsp black salt
Salt to taste



Procedure

Soak chickpeas overnight and pressure cook until soft.
Pressure cook potato then peel and chop them for the filling. Take the boiled chopped potato, boiled chick peas, chopped coriander leaves, chopped onion and some crushed puris, black salt and red chili powder (add according to your taste).
In a bowl mix everything well and use as filling.

Beat fresh curds nicely and add sugar, salt and roasted cumin powder and mix well.
Make a small hole in the puffed puris by tapping lightly so you can spoon all the ingredients in it.


Fill up the puris with this mixture then add a little curd, green chutney and dates chutney in each puris and again add the beaten curd.



Shake the puris a little bit so as to spread the mixture
Sprinkle red chili powders, chat masala powder on top, then add the sev. Garnish with coriander leaves. Serve immediately.
Enjoy this easy and yummy chat at home.


Notes
Once it is assembled, serve it immediately else the puris will become soggy
