Brownies

When I was in Brazil. I used to go to (Ratna boudi) Ratnabali Adhikari’s house and she always made brownies for my kids. She knew my daughters love brownies. I got this recipe from her and want to share with you all.

Serves 4, 16 pieces

Ingredients:
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup butter (room temperature)
8 tbsp chocolate powder (without sugar)
3 eggs
2 tsp baking powder
1 & ½ cup powder sugar
3 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp salt
Soft butter for greasing the pan
Flour for dusting buttered pan

Procedure

Preheat the oven to 325 degree F. Butter should be kept in room temperature. Now melt the butter and add cocoa powder. Make a smooth paste and add sugar, mix it very well.

Add the eggs one at a time, stirring quickly after adding each one. When the batter looks shiny, thick and well mixed, add the flour, baking powder, vanilla extract and salt. Blend thoroughly using blender  till batter is consistent. After adding flour and baking soda, do not keep the batter outside for long.

Pour the batter into a greased and floured 8 inch square pan and bake it for 30-35 minutes.

To check if it has been cooked properly, Inserted a toothpick into the center of the pan, if it comes out clean, then your brownies are ready. Remove from oven and let it cool. Resist the temptation to cut into it until it’s mostly cool.

HAVE WITH HOT GLASS OF MILK OR COFFEE
ENJOY!!!

Note

If you want you can add chocolate chip or dry fruits, but my kids don’t like them, so I don’t add them.
