Chilli Paneer

Chilli paneer is a mouth watering dish which generally served as a starter.  My kids like to eat it with noodles. So whenever I make it, it is served with noodles, and I really can’t remember the last time I cooked chilli paneer.
At home I usually make chilli chicken because my kids like chilli chicken more than chilli paneer.  I must say no one can make chilli chiken like my friend Jhuma ….yummy .I was getting bored of making the same kind of paneer .So I decided to make chilli panner .  This is the recipe for Chilli paneer.

Serves 4

Ingredients

500 gms cubed paneer (I used longer slices)
1bell pepper /capsicum (I used green, red, and yellow) ( cut in large square shape)
1 onion (cut in large square shape)
1 bunch spring onions (chopped)
5-6 Garlic cloves (chopped)
3-4Green chili (chopped)
1 tsp ginger garlic paste
3 tbsp tomato sauce
1 tbsp soya sauce
1 tsp hot and sweet tomato chili sauce
1 pinch ajinomoto (optional)
Salt (as taste)

Ingredients - Batter for frying paneer cubes:

Corn flour 3 tsp
Maida / all purpose flour
Salt 1 pinch
½ tsp black pepper powder
2-3 drops soya sauce.
1 tsp minced garlic
Oil for deep frying

Procedure

Take a bowl and make a mixture of corn flour, maida, salt, black pepeer , soya sauce ,&  garlic and add  a little water. Mix well into a thick batter. Now add paneer and keep this aside for 30 minutes.

The batter consistency should be enough to coat the paneer smoothly. Deep fry the paneer cubes dipped in the batter. When it becomes golden brown take it out. Drain the extra oil using a paper towel.

Now in a pan add oil …when the oil is hot add ginger garlic paste, chopped green chilli, onions one by one. Add spring onions .When the onions turns brown add the capsicum, stir in a high flame, and fry till they turn soft and moist , they should not be burned . Add all the sauces and salt, the fried panner cubes and 1 tsp of corn flour and water mixed together. Taste and adjust the salt. Stir
Cook for another 3-4 mins until the sauce becomes thick due to the corn flour.

Garnish with spring onion. Serve hot

Note

Oil should be hot.
The cut shapes of vegetables should be similar

Never pour the sauce directly into the pan. First put all the sauces in a bowl, mix and taste, and then put into the pan.
