Paneer Methi Pakora (Cottage cheese & Fenugreek Leaves Snack)
Paneer (cottage cheese) is one of the most used ingredients
in Indian cuisine. You can make various recipes using paneer. This recipe is
very simple. If you have paneer (cottage cheese) in your freezer and have no
idea what to do with it, you can try this recipe.
When all of the
sudden you have to welcome guests in your house this is the perfect snack and takes
little time to make.
Ingredients:
250 gms paneer (cottage cheese)
½ cup kasuri methi (Fenugreek leaves)
1 ½ cup chickpea flour (besan)
½ cup Rice flour
1 tsp Red chili
powder
1/8 cooking soda
A pinch of asafetida (hing)
Salt to taste
Oil for deep frying
Chaat masala
Procedure
In a mixing bowl add besan, rice flour, red chili
powder, salt, hing and kasuri methi .
Mix all the ingredients well and add little bit of
water to make a thick batter. Make sure the Now add cooking soda and keep this batter aside
for 10 minutes.
Meanwhile cut the paneer, slice it carefully, not too
thick and too thin, sprinkle salt and chili powder on the paneer
Now heat oil in a deep frying pan and dip the paneer
pieces in the batter to coat them. Now deep
fry them. Make sure the pakoras are a nice golden colour and crisp before you
take them out.
Sprinkle chaat masala on top and enjoy hot with green
chutney or any sauce.
Note
Don’t leave the batter aside for more than 10
minutes, otherwise it will spoil your pakoras and make them soft.
