wholesome and nutritious breakfast. My kids love to have this dish along with a
drink. Note…….u can add any veggies of your choice. Serve it hot. I don’t ever
get bored making it. Start your day with a healthy breakfast and refreshing
drink.
Serves 4
Ingredients
2 cups Rava/suji
1 big onion
1 ½ cup Peas
1 carrot
1 capsicum
1 string curry leaves
2 green chilies
1 tsp salt
2 tsp oil
¾ mustard seeds
1 tsp urad dal
1 tsp Chana dal
1 pinch turmeric (optional)
Procedure
Heat a kadai /pan and dry roast suji in medium flame until there is a
roasted smell of suji. Make sure the color of the suji does not change. When it
is done, keep aside.
In the same kadai take oil and once the oil is hot put mustard seeds,
the mustard seeds should splash, add chopped
green chilies, chana dal, urad dal, curry leaves and stir the mixture, once
this is cooked for about 1 minute add onions, diced carrot, capsicum pieces, and
peas to it and stir well.
Add warm water and salt to taste. Bring it to boil and now add turmeric
powder and suji. Do not pour the suji at one go. Just keep on adding little
quantities and stir so that the suji mixes evenly. Let the suji cook for five
minutes on a low flame. Serve it hot.
Note
Always use warm water
Do not use a lot of water, it will make it sticky
If you don’t use turmeric powder, the color will stay white.
