Black Chana Raita (Chickpea with Yogurt)
I am not fond of raita. Usually I like plain yogurt but if
there are some special guests that are going to visit my place, I make raita. This
Sunday some friends came to my place and I served it with vegetable pulao. They
all loved it very much.
Ingredients
1/2 cup soaked black chana
250 grams yogurt
1 small onion finely chopped
2 green chilies chopped
1 tsp cumin powder roasted
1 tsp black salt
1 tsp chat masala
1tp mustard seeds
1 string curry leaves.
1 tsp oil
Procedure
Heat a pan with oil and add black chana. Sauté it for a few
minutes.
In the meantime prepare the curd. In a mixing bowl whisk the
yogurt .Then add roasted cumin powder, chat masala, salt, and chopped green chili,
onion. Mix well. Now add fried chana.
Now heat a small pan with 1 drop of oil. Add mustard seeds, let
it splutter then add curry leaves. Now transfer it to the raita. Add required salt.
Serve with any parathas or variety of rice
Notes
You can add pepper powder instead of green chili too.
You can avoid the onions if you want.
