Onion Tomato Chutney / Side Dish for Idli & Dosa
Onion tomato
chutney is very easy to make and you can have this as a side dish with your
breakfast. I prefer it with idli and dosa.
Ingredients
1 Onion
3 tomato chopped
2
red chilies
2-3
pods garlic
1
small pinch of Asafoetioda
¼
tsp mustard seeds
Few
curry leaves
Salt
to taste
Procedure
Chop
the onion and tomato finely & peel the skin of garlic.
In
a pan heat oil and add red chili and garlic and roast them on a medium flame.
Now
add the onions and sauté till they turn golden brown in color. Add asafoetioda. Cook
it in a medium flame. Add salt to this. Cook till the tomatoes become mushy. Switch
off the flame and allow it to cool.
Grind
this into a smooth paste by adding a little water.
Check
for salt and temper with mustard seeds and curry leaves.
Serve
with idli or dosa.
Note
If
you want you can use a few tbsp of shredded coconut while grinding.
