Mint Raita
Raita is a very tasty side dish that
complements a variety of dishes. When you have a very rich and flavorful food,
the raita should be plain. Mint raita is plain and has a cool and fresh flavor
to it. It goes perfectly with any kind of Biryani.
Ingredients
2 cups thick plain Yogurt
1/2 - 1 tsp roasted cumin powder
1 tsp chaat masala
Salt as required (I used
black salt – more authentic)
1-2 tsp Chili powder
Bunch of mint leaves
Procedure
Wash the mint leaves and
blend it in the mixer and make a smooth paste. Take the yogurt in a bowl.
Add remaining ingredients
into yogurt. Beat well until smooth. If
you like a stronger flavor of the mint, add more of the mint.
Garnish with cumin powder
and chili powder along with fresh mint leaves.
Serve with a dish of your
choice. Goes perfectly with especially rich curries/gravies.
