Poori for Pani Puri / Dahi puri
Now a day’s readymade puris are avaible in the market. But
when I used to live in Sao Paulo I did not get it in the market. So I used to
make it at home. It’s very easy to make and you can store it.
Ingredients
1 cup sooji
1 tbsp maida
A pinch of baking
soda
3-4 tbsp of warm
water
Salt as needed
Oil for deep
frying
25 -30 puris
Procedure
In a wide bowl add
sooji, add salt and baking powder. Mix it well.
Add water little
by little, don’t add too much water. Now add maida and knead the dough very
well. Make a stiff dough. Add few drops of oil and knead the dough for another 2
minutes.
Cover and keep it
for 15-20 minutes.
Take small lemon
sized dough’s and roll into thin rotis by applying oil on the rolling pin and
counter top. Cut this into small rounds with help of cookie cutter or cap of
any bottle.
Heat the oil for
deep frying and put the small puri into this and deep fry them on both sides.
The oil should be hot.
Take them out from
the oil and drain it on the kitchen towel.
These poori’s are
easily available in super markets. So you do not have to strain yourself making
these poori’s. After all, we are not going to have pani puri everyday. You can
get it ready made.
